Continuous Professional Development
CPD (Continuous Professional Development) for serving teachers is central to improving the quality of teaching and learning
in schools in Ethiopia. A new approach to CPD was introduced in Autumn 2009 (the Framework).
It is based on needs analysis and implementation at school level.
It is supported by a Practical Toolkit and by two support modules. The national distribution of the printed
versions of the documents is under way; on the right hand side are links to the electronic versions of these documents.
Schools have received training in the new approach, have made plans for improvement and are now working on implementation.
